One of our aims is to make strong connections with our local community. This includes a lot of partnership work with other local charities who enhance our roster of activities and allow our members to try new things with trained professionals. Meeting new people and being welcomed by a partner group is highly rewarding for our members who can experience stigma in society. We work closely with our partners to foster a sense of community and to facilitate our members accessing their services in their own time.
We thank of our partners for their valuable contribution to the breadth and quality of our service.
Kingston Mencap
Our project runs from Searchlight Community Centre which is the home of Kingston Mencap. Our two services work together well as we provide different kinds of sessions, ours as a day service open throughout the week and Mencap offering evening and weekend club nights.
Mencap are truly supportive of our work and we appreciate their assistance in keeping Searchlight safe and tidy.
Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College
RHACC provide excellent tuition for our members, working on core functional skills for independent living and confidence building. Session teachers run classes from our premises at Searchlight to allow our members to access their courses who may not able to visit their main site in Richmond. Members enjoy RHACC courses as they challenge them to learn, express themselves creatively and share their achievements with their peers.
